Upgrade, Not Just a Repair
Most older panels didn't fail. The house around them changed: refrigerated AC, a pool, electric appliances, an EV.
Fine in March, tripping by July. Long AC run times on a hot garage wall push an undersized panel past its limit.
A panel should be silent and cool. Heat, buzzing, or scorch marks mean a failing breaker or a loose connection under load.
Circuits squeezed in, breakers doubled up. When there's no room left, every new load is a compromise.
A Level 2 charger, a new AC, a pool pump, or a heat pump each adds steady load for hours. Check capacity before you buy the equipment.
Older equipment wasn't built for today's number of circuits, and parts can be hard to find. Age alone isn't the reason. It's a reason to look.
A fishy or burning-plastic smell near the panel is overheating. Shut the main off if it's safe to reach and call now.
How We Do It
Straight Answer
A new panel is a big job and not always the right one. We'll tell you to hold off when:
A breaker that trips only when the microwave and toaster run together is an overloaded circuit. Moving a load or adding a circuit fixes it.
A failing AC motor, pool pump, or space heater can trip a healthy breaker. Fix the appliance, keep the panel.
With open slots and room in your service, a dedicated circuit for a window unit, shop tool, or hot tub may be all you need.
Whole-house surge protection is added to an existing panel in good condition. No replacement required.
What Happens
From the first look at your panel to city sign-off, you know what's happening and what it costs before any work begins.
We add up what your home draws, including long summer AC cycles, and compare it to what your service can safely carry. If you have room, we'll tell you an upgrade isn't justified.
Panel size, service size, and what's included, priced before we touch a wire. You approve everything first.
We pull the permit. The power-off part of the job usually takes part of a day. Plan where family and pets will be, and keep the fridge closed.
City inspection passed, circuits clearly labeled, power restored. A panel sized for how your home really runs, with room for what you've planned.
